 The private pilot license is the first license aspiring recreational and career minded pilots typically obtain. The process of learning to fly can be intimidating but don't worry; we will be there to guide you every step of the way. 

Requirements to obtain Private License:

• Be 17 years of age
• Read, speak, write and understand the English language
• Hold a U.S. student pilot certificate, sport pilot certificate, or recreational pilot certificate
• Receive flight training and a logbook endorsement from an authorized instructor
• Meet the aeronautical experience requirements for the aircraft rating sought
• Pass a practical test for the aircraft rating sought

Requirements to begin training:

•  At least 14 years of age (with written consent from parents)
• Have the drive to learn and continue to improve in all aspects of flight

Pricing: 

We estimate to obtain your private pilots license it will cost anywhere from $7,000.00 to $10,000.00 based off of FAA flight requirements and our instruction rates. 

Flight Instruction rate: $50.00 per hour

Aircraft Fee: $126.00 per hour

 The instrument rating is typically the next step after you complete your private pilot certificate. This entire course focuses on learning to safely fly the aircraft utilizing the aircraft avionics, radios, communication and navigation equipment alone. Because weather is unpredictable, it is almost essential to have an instrument rating if you plan to fly long distance, at night or cross-country often. As a private pilot, you are restricted to flying under VFR rules and therefore are limited to when you can fly. An instrument pilot is able to fly in less than perfect weather and through clouds and using the aircrafts precision guidance instruments. 

Requirements to obtain instrument rating:

• Hold at least a private pilot certificate
• Be able to speak English
• Take a ground school training course or receive ground training from an authorized instructor
• Receive a logbook endorsement certifying you are prepared for the FAA knowledge test
• Pass the required FAA knowledge test (aeronautical knowledge)
• Receive flight instruction on the areas of operation necessary for an instrument rating
• Pass the required practical test

Aircraft Rate: $158.00 per hour

Requirements to obtain a commercial certificate:

• 250 hours of flight time, 100 hours of which must be in powered aircraft, and 50 must be in airplanes.
• 100 hours of pilot-in-command time, 50 of which must be in airplanes.
• 50 hours of cross-country time, 10 of which must be in an airplane.
• 20 hours of training, including 10 of instrument, 10 of complex or TAA, and a smattering of cross-country and practical test preparation.
• 10 hours of solo training, including a smattering of cross-country and night.
